Here is a real reason to raise a toast this festive season. Radio One and Easy Cabs in association with the Bangalore City Traffic Police (BCTP), have launched a service to drop you home.

With a strong public message, ‘Don’t Drink and Drive’, a fleet of branded Easy Cabs will be ready at the call of all those who want to hold that little bit longer at the hottest night spots in the City.

Register

Under this initiative, the Radio One station has partnered with 12 night clubs for a duration of one club per week. All party goers have to do is to register at the counter and be assured of a drop safely home.

Can be prevented

Launching the service, Additional Commissioner of Police (Traffic and Security), Praveen Sood said: “Last year alone saw 125 people being killed in self-accidents, such as hitting the median etc. These are preventable accidents.”

Rs 35 cr fine collected

The police have collected Rs 35 crore by way of fines in 2008 and 09. Drivers too have to show more responsibility on the road, he added. This out of the box initiative is free at present. Easy Cabs has provided two cabs per club for a period of three months.
