<p>The department of management studies (MBA), New Horizon College of Engineering (NHCE), conducted a one-day national-level management fest called Rudraksh 2014 recently. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The fest included various informative and fun-filled competitions such as Yojna (business plan), Mantaram (marketing), Chakravyuh (best manager), Vyakya (human resource) and Tathya (business quiz) among others. The collage competition and talent show also attracted a large crowd. <br /><br />Over 1000 students from 50 colleges took part in the event. “The fest served as a platform for students to showcase their talent in the field of management. The events brought out the best in everyone. The managerial skills of students such as <br />planning, organising, leadership and problem solving to name a few came to the fore,” said Leena Bora, a fourth-semester student. <br /><br /> Pointing out to the exposure that they received at the fest, Nitesh B, a fourth-semester student said, “As a marketing student, I realised how much can be learnt from a fest like this. Although we had an idea about management and marketing in general, this gave us a practical exposure.” He added, “It helped us network with other colleges and improve our communication skills in the process.” <br /><br />Elated with the response they received for the fest, Gayathri, a participant, said, “It’s wonderful that so many colleges took part. The talent show proved that there are no boundaries when it comes to talent. Each and every student had a skill to display. The <br />highlight of the fest was the fact that it was a completely student-driven activity.” <br /><br />Nishitha Rai DK, another participant, said, “The fest was a success and it was overwhelming to see the great results of all our hard work. Thanks to the fest, I have learnt better co-ordination, spirit of leadership and patience. But all this was <br />possible only due to the constant support of our faculty members.” </p>
