The coveted trophy

The unveiling of the trophy, for the fifth edition of the ICC World Twenty20 tournament by Reliance Communication, was held in the City recently. It excited the cricket lovers as they got a glimpse of the trophy.

Hoping that team India will win the trophy, the cricket lovers were all excited and could be seen taking pictures of the coveted trophy. Actress Ragini Dwivedi unveiled the trophy along with cricket commentator Chandramoulu Kanavi.

“I have always followed cricket but it was only after the Celebrity Cricket League that I really started following the game actively. It is a huge honour to get this opportunity to unveil the trophy in Bangalore. I hope that I prove lucky for the team and that the Indian cricket squad gets to bring the trophy back home. I wish them all the luck,” said Ragini.

Cricket fans could not only click pictures with the dazzling trophy; they could also send their best wishes to the team and participate in competitions.

Shiva T Kumar, the COO of Reliance Karnataka Circle, noted that being associated with one of the most popular sports in the country was a great feeling.

“People in the country worship cricket and I hope that our team excels at the tournament. T-20 is a very popular format of cricket and when it started we were all very apprehensive about its acceptance. However, people love to watch it and it has become a popular concept. I am extremely happy that we are associated with such a fantastic concept and wish the team all the best,” he said.

After a countdown of ten, the trophy was unveiled amidst loud cheers from the cricket lovers.
“I love cricket and am training to be a cricketer. I am one of those lucky people who has got the chance to take a look at the trophy,” said Arjun, a young cricket enthusiast.
