<p>Public beats him up, cops charge him with rape<br /><br />A labourer allegedly molested an infant at south Delhi’s RK Puram on Sunday. He was caught in the act by a student who happened to be around.<br /><br />The accused, a resident of Jalpaiguri of West Bengal, was thrashed by public before being handed over to police.<br /><br />Amit Kumar Nimesh, 20, had gone to feed chapatis to cows near Shree Shani Temple in RK Puram sector 2 around 11 am when he noticed the accused sitting beside a car with the one-and-a-half-year-old girl, who had been stripped. <br /><br />The accused was allegedly trying to insert a match stick into the girl’s private parts.Nimesh immediately caught the accused and raised an alarm. Soon people gathered and a man claimed himself to be the girl’s father.<br /><br />Before police could arrive at the spot, Babu was thrashed by the public. Since he was badly drunk, he was unable to escape.<br /><br />The girl was sent for a medical test, which, according to a police source, showed no serious injuries.<br /><br />Police have registered a case under section 376 of Indian Penal Code and also included section 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSOA). The accused was on Monday produced before a Delhi court which remanded him to 14 days’ judicial custody.<br />The victim lives with her parents at the labourers’ camp at a construction site.<br /><br />7-yr-old raped<br /><br />In another incident on Tuesday, a seven-year-old girl was allegedly raped by an unknown person in west Delhi’s Mayapuri.<br /><br />A woman called police around 3:30 pm informing that a minor has been raped by a stranger. The girl was immediately sent for a medical examination. Police said they would register an FIR after the arrival of medical test results and once they have questioned the victim’s mother and the complainant.</p>
