Are you a teenybopper, constantly churning your brains regarding choosing of correct outfits, to be sported on those conservative social events, family get-togethers and religious festivals? You must be finding yourself often in a quandary, since opting for your fave pair of jeans would elicit an emphatic ‘no’ from your mom. And be

ing an irredeemable fashion fiend, sporting of those ‘staid’ salwars, is a downright no for you.
How about incorporating some modern tweaks in conventional robes, to create a fusion of grace n' glam elements? To begin with, just slip into a fabulous floor-length lehenga. (Try out those hand-embroidered/painted lehengas, with motifs running diagonally all across the dress). Club it with a sexy tube top or a tank top. Now, before your mom raises her brow, just twine around your neck, an exotic tasselled stole. (Go for those netted stoles in classic black, which generally blend with all dress colours).

Stoles and skirts

Alternatively, instead of a stole, have a sheer fetching dupatta slither around your shoulders. Usher in more pizzazz by pulling together the ends of dupatta and securing them with a beautiful broach. If you aren't a game for those tank/tube tops, then simply choose those sleeveless, high-hemmed tops. You can try those crinkled tops on crushed full-skirts that look alluring.

Remember, this 'full-length lehenga n' short-top' combo is an ideal bet during family functions, especially for sit-down lunch/dinners. Since, you won't be under that fright of creating a fashion debacle, with your skirt getting hitched up while squatting, (which generally happens when you're donning those short skirts)! What's more, this dress proffers the wearer, a kind of laid-back sophistication because of its understated appeal. You can ginger up your looks with gorgeous accessories like lovely danglers, bracelets/bangles et al.

Short top-chudidhars

Another traditional yet stylish attire would be the cool short-top chudidars, now available in awesome avatars, with fascinating fits n' cuts. Try this style that's making flaming rounds in fashion circuits — get the chudidar top fashioned out in see-through lace material, and for lining cloth, go for floral/graphic printed satin fabric.

Opt for chudidars with sizzling scooped necklines and plunging backs to create more magic. But once again, don't forget to swathe your shoulders with a dazzling dupatta, which complements your dress, (also aids you to pre-empt the fuming scowls from your mom!) You can ramp up your style quotient, by having a bejewelled belt cinched around your waist. Just have a shot at those costume jewelleries too, available for a nickel n' dime in street bazaars.

If you don't like the usual style of chudidar bottom, which's done in snugly gathered folds, then just get the 'dress bottom' tailored, with wide loose legs, (somewhat resembling cigarette pants, perhaps a tad less wider than palazzo pants). Indeed this style looks ravishingly cool n' chic, besides bestowing poise n' panache to your image.
Finally, not to forget the six-yard splendour — the sarees, as yet another style option for those religious functions n' family gatherings. You can make a fashion statement by draping it in various styles — Marwari, Gujarati, Coorgi, et al.

You can hike up the beauty appeal n' glam quotient in this dress, by clubbing sarees (try out those pastel-hued, wrinkle-free cool cotton sarees), with seductive décolleté necked sari blouses, with small-width shoulder straps. In fact, there's a resurgence of those puff-sleeves n' umbrella-sleeves too, which are reminiscent of yesteryears. You can even try out those halter-neck/spaghetti-strapped blouses, embellished with zardosi, teeny spangles, etc, which spell a sublime sense of grandeur.
