Woods's fresh fling comes to the fore

In a statement on his web site, Woods said he has not been “true to my values and the behaviour my family deserves.”He offered his “profound apology” to his supporters.

His atonement came after “Us Weekly” magazine published a cover story alleging that a Los Angeles cocktail waitress had a 31-month affair with the world’s No 1 golfer starting April 2007.

Jaimee Grubbs, 24, told the magazine she met Woods at a Las Vegas nightclub the week after the 2007 Masters – two months before Woods’s wife, Elin Nordegren, gave birth to their first child. Grubbs claims to have proof in 300 text messages.

On Wednesday morning, the magazine published what it said was a voicemail provided by Grubbs that she said was left by Woods on November 24, three days before his early morning car crash outside his home near Orlando. Grubbs is a reality TV star in the US and had appeared on the VH1 show ‘Tool Academy’.

In his statement, Woods did not offer details of any alleged relationship. “I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves,” he said.
Grubbs made public lurid messages about her fling with Woods. According to her, they had at least 20 sexual encounters. Woods allegedly messaged Grubbs last week that his wife had gone through his phone and might call Grubbs.

He allegedly wanted his new love to delete his name from her phone. In her story to the ‘Us Weekly’, Grubbs describes their first kiss: “He was standing by his bed ready to pack. I ran in, jumped on him and tackled him. We rolled around and he kissed me. It was nice and gentle. My heart was beating. We laid there and cuddled for 30 minutes.”

She claimed they first had sex days later in a hotel in San Diego. “He just grabbed and kissed me and we started taking our clothes off and had sex,” she alleged. Weeks later, Woods’s Swedish wife Elin gave birth to their first child – Sam, who is now two. They also have a 10-month-old son, Charlie. Grubbs and Woods’s last encounter was two months ago at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach. she claimed: “We cuddled, watched ‘Angels and Demons’, then had sex. It was very romantic.”

The new allegations came after Woods was charged on Tuesday over his car crash linked to earlier claims of an affair with a first woman, nightclub hostess Rachel Uchitel.

Celebrity website TMZ alleged that his wife, Elin, 29, scratched his face and chased after his car with a golf club after a bust-up over Uchitel.
