<p>Final year students of Ayurvedic courses on Friday protested against Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) denying them permission to write the examination. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Students who have backlog papers from their first year have been requesting the university to give them opportunity to take the exam this time. <br /><br />For batches before 2012, there are four attempts to clear the exam, as per regulations. <br />RGUHS Vice Chancellor Sriprakash said the university was not in a position to help the students as they had exhausted all their attempts. Seeking an opportunity to clear their first year papers, the students had approached the High Court last year. <br /><br />On December 31, 2013, a High Court bench ordered: “Subject to permission by Vice Chancellor, the petitioners shall be permitted to take the examination for I Year BAMS professional course.” <br /><br />Following this, students were permitted to take the exam in December but several could not appear as there was a delay in issuing hall tickets, according to the students. Now, they have sought permission, Prof Bhusanur Math of Ashwini Ayurvedic Medical College, Tumkur, said. <br /></p>
