Apple Seera

Ingredients: Fine sooji — 2 cups, Apple — peeled, cored & chopped — 1, Sugar — 3/4 cup, Ghee — 4 tbsp, Raisins and Cashewnuts — a few, Saffron — a pinch, Milk (hot) — 1 cup, Cardamom powder — 1/2 tsp, Borneo (edible camphor) — a pinch (crushed).
Method:Heat ghee, fry cashewnuts in it and set aside. In the same ghee, fry sooji till light brown. Toast and powder saffron, crush it in a tsp of hot milk and add to the rest of the milk along with half a cup of hot water. Add this to the fried sooji. Stir and cook for 5 minutes. Now add the chopped apple, sugar and raisins. Mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add cardamom powder, crushed edible camphor and fried cashew nuts. Mix well and serve hot.

Crunchy apple salad
Ingredients: Apple — peeled, cored & chopped — 2 cups, Green gram/Moong sprouts — 1 cup, Carrot gratings — 1/2 cup, Coconut gratings — 2 tbsp, Green chillies — chopped — 1, Sugar, Salt and Lime juice — to taste, Coriander leaves — chopped — 1 tsp.
Seasoning: Oil — 2 tsp, Mustard and Jeera — 1/2 tsp each, Red chilli — 2 pieces, Asafoetida — a pinch.
Method: Mix all the ingredients together. Season and serve.
