Last Updated 26 March 2014, 17:17 IST

Former chief minister Yeddyurappa said that the inactiveness of the State government and the developmental era during the term of the BJP government would be the major poll issue during the Lok Sabha polls.

Speaking to mediapersons on his arrival to attend the BJP convention organised by the district BJP unit on Wednesday, he alleged the Central government of being corrupt and the state government is almost dead despite being in power for nearly 10 months.

One of the recent surveys has indicated the BJP winning majority in the election and as per the survey, there might be 10 per cent hike in the voting percentage. The BJP would at least win 20 seats in Karnataka, he predicted.

He added that former minister Vasanth Saliyan joining the BJP exemplifies the fact that people are impressed with the work done by BJP during its tenure.

Asserting that Kundapur MLA Haladi Srinivas Shetty as his close associate, former CM said he had an courtesy call with Haladi to seek his greeting for the success in the poll. He said there was no political talks held between the two leaders, as it was purely a personal visit by a friend.

Former minister C T Ravi said that each person in the BJP respect the party’s decision on setting aside the decision of inducting Mutalik to BJP. The party always upholds the national issues within the angle of Constitutional frame. Whatever may be the ideals followed by Pramod Mutalik, he is into unconstitutional deeds to execute his principles.

This act of Mutalik is unlawful. BJP never supports anyone who went against the law and firmly believes in the system, C T Ravi  said.

He also hoped of BJP candidate Shobha Karanadlaje getting highest lead in Chikmagalur which will shut the mouth of those who are making unnecessary allegations against him of not supporting her candidature.

“I never think that I am above the party and I have always remained loyal.”
