Shivarajkumar has been shuttling between shooting schedules and yet lending as much support and encouragement as possible to his wife Geetha Shivarajkumar, who is contesting the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections from Shimoga constituency.

He has, in fact, set apart a substantial part of his time towards campaigning for his wife and he feels that it is an experience to watch his wife step into a new territory.

“She has a certain charisma and innocence about her and has the power to do good. I am sure she will do well. She knows how to conduct herself. I am not there to support any political strategy but my children and I will lend our full support to her,”Shivarajkumar tells Metrolife.

Shivanna, as he is fondly called, has never looked fitter than in his latest project Aryan, in which he plays a sports coach.

The role requires him to be fit and the actor has been putting his heart and soul into looking good.

It is perhaps for the first time that Shivarajkumar has dedicated time to build his strength for the role.

“I always wanted to build my body but my tough shooting schedules leave me very little time to do anything else, apart from what is required for the film. This year, for the first time, I’ve started lifting weights and I am enjoying every bit of my gym routine,” he says.

After doing extremely well in Bajarangi, he is getting ready to essay more action sequences in Belli, which is an outright commercial film.

“Expectations were high after Bajarangi, which did pretty well, and I would be doing stunts in a few more projects,” he adds.

The actor will go in for a retro look in his next project, Manamohaka, which showcases three stages of love and there were rumours that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan would be debuting in Kannada with Manamohaka.

“Nothing has been finalised about the heroine yet.

This project has given me a chance to experiment with my looks. It will be a big challenge to go back to the 60s and 70s and portray life back then,” he reasons.

Shivarajkumar has acted in more than 100 films and is still counting.

Doesn’t he get bored sometimes?

He concludes saying that each role has brought with it its own challenges and he concedes that nothing is easy.
