JOIN USThree of a family who were visiting their relative’s house on the occasion of Ugadi were mowed down by a speeding car near Byranayakanahalli village, Thyamagondlu hobli, Nelamangala on Tuesday.
According to police, the deceased have been identified as Venkatesh, 35, his wife Hema, 30 and their son Srinivas, 9. All the three were killed on the spot. The car also rammed into a two-wheeler injuring the rider, Nagaraju, 35.
The deceased are said to be labourers and residents of Byranayakanahalli village and Nagaraju, a farmer and a resident of Chikkanahalli.
The accident occurred when Venkatesh and his family were walking back home after visiting their relative’s house in Chikkanahalli on the occasion of Ugadi. The sports utility vehicle, was being drive at a high speed came to a halt after ramming a two-wheeler, the police said.
Nagaraju has been admitted to a hospital. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Ramakrishna, who fled the spot after abandoning the car, police added.
The Thyamagondlu police have registered a case.
