IBS bags Oman contract

Kerala-based IBS Software has bagged a contract from oil exploration major Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) to provide IT solutions to streamline its logistics services.
The IBS solutions will streamline the booking system of PDO and increase the efficiency of its logistics services, the city-based IT firm has said in a release.
The financial details of the contract were not disclosed.

Warith Al Kharusi, logistics manager of PDO, said the company was in the process of "transforming all our logistics services" -- cargo management services, passenger management services and materials management services.

"As part of this strategy we have awarded an IT contract to IBS to optimise the process and create the utmost value and visibility in our passenger movements," said Kharusi.

Oman's state-run petroleum giant accounts for more than 70 percent of the country's crude oil production and manages almost entire supply of natural gas in the the Sultanate.
