Bangalore DCP's wife killed in accident

The wife of a senior police officer serving in Bangalore was killed in a road accident at Karkala in Udupi district on Wednesday.

Gayathri, 35, the wife of Labhu Ram, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Bangalore West, was among two people who died when a KSRTC bus bound for Chikmagalur collided head-on with their Mahindra Bolero Jeep at Neere Jaddu in Karkala. Police gave the name of the second victim as Nataraj, a police constable who was at the wheel of the Bolero. 

Labhu Ram’s two teenage daughters Punita and Harita are being treated for injuries at a local private hospital. Sources said Gayathri and her children were on their way to meet their relatives in Udupi.
