The BJP is contemplating filing a complaint with the Election Commission of India against Chief Minister Siddaramaiah for his comments on Supreme Court-constituted Special Investigation Team on Godhra riots giving clean chit to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Speaking to reporters here on Thursday, BJP National General Secretary Ananth Kumar said that the chief minister’s remarks on the report of the investigating agency amounts to contempt of court. He also demanded that KPCC president G Parameshwara should apologise for his comments on JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda.

Claiming that the Congress would bite the dust in the general elections, Kumar said that the “Modi wave” had already pushed the Congress to the edge.

Writing on the wall

“The writing on the wall is clear and top leaders of the party have already run away from the battlefield. Mention must be made of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her son and AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi who do not want to project themselves as prime ministerial candidates,” he added.
