World number 34 Ghosal completely dominated the proceedings against a much higher ranked Pilley to score a 11-8, 11-2, 10-12, 11-8 win.
Ghosal won the first two sets without a problem, but let Pilley off the hook in the third.
Ghoshal he knocked off five consecutive points to make it 8-5. Ghoshal squandered one of the three match balls but an unforced error from Pilley sealed the issue for the Indian.
