He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for Rs 5 crore development works and inaugurating 35th Janaspanadana programme at Nosagere in the taluk on Saturday.
The programme was jointly organised by Zilla Panchayat, Taluk Panchayat, Public works Department and Revenue Department.
Lauding the Yeddyurappa-led BJP government in the State, he said that the chief minister had brought out many schemes for farmers, daily wage workers and common man.
The Markandeya dam drinking water project which will provide drinking water to 200 villages in the taluk will not be abandoned at any cost, Krishnaiah Setty added.
