Google tool for nominee info

Aiming to help people make an informed decision this Lok Sabha election, Google on Tuesday launched a new tool to provide voters with detailed information about candidates in each constituency of the country.

Internet users can access the “Know Your Candidates” tab on www.google.co.in/elections website to find out about nominees contesting from a constituency, as well as its incumbent MP. The Google tool integrates publicly available information sourced from organisations such as the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), PRS Legislative Research and Liberty Institute India, a statement said.

It enlists candidate information such as their disclosed educational background, financial details and social media presence, including their video biographies sourced from Ping networks.
