However, her bid for a double crown was scuttled as she and Renee Binne went down in the doubles final to the top-seeded Indian duo of Rushmi Chakravarthi and Isha Lakhani.
Chun-Yan, the Chinese No. 22 who is ranked 771st in the world and seeded eighth in singles, rallied from a set down to oust world ranked 491 Anastasia of Japan 6-7 (6-8), 6-1, 6-1 and set up a summit clash with unseeded Korean Kang Seo-Kyung in the final on Saturday.

Kang beat another Japanese qualifier Moe Kawatoko 6-1, 6-3 in the second one-sided semifinal at the Shivaji Park Gymkhana’s courts. Indian pair Isha and Rushmi justified their top billing by winning the doubles title.

The duo overcame opening set blues to beat unseeded Chinese-Australian combine of Chun-Yan and Renee 2-6, 6-3, 10-7 in the final to win the top prize of $637 and ten circuit points. The runners-up got $343 and six circuit points.
