Jwala-Diju lose in final

Seventh seeded Jwala and Diju, who have been having an eventful season with two titles, lost 14-21, 18-21 in just 37 minutes.

The Indian duo who surprised many to reach the final of the season-ending tournament lacked consistency in smashes and long rallies though it was an even contest in net play. Malaysian Lee Chong Wei and Mew Choo Wong won the men’s and singles title respectively. World No 1 and top seed Chong Wei, who is also the defending champion, beat Sung Hwan Park 21-17, 21-17 while Mew Choo Wong defeated  Juliane Schenk 21-15, 21-7 in women’s singles final.
