'All houses in India to be em'power'ed by 2012'

Speaking after inaugurating ‘Annadharma,’ the Bhojana Shaala (dining hall) at Sri Krishna mutt in Udupi, he said the plan to supply uninterrupted power could not be implemented due to power shortage. In the 11th five-year plan, the Centre has set a target of 78,000 MW generation, so that all the villages could be provided with electricity.

Stating that the Centre has considered the Karnataka government’s proposal for the 4,000 MW capacity power plant at Koodligi in Bijapur, he said, the project will be implemented as soon as the State gives basic facilities. On Thadadi project, he said, the State has not provided details properly.
