<p>Hanumantharayappa (40) of Kallur village, his wife Basamma (35) and Narasegowda (38) are the deceased, while their son Shivanna, son-in-law Revanasiddaiah and lorry driver Susheelan of Gundya village in Dakshina Kannada’s Puttur taluk are battling for their lives.<br /><br />Magadi police said the accident occurred near Jyothipalya Gate around 5 am. The tractor, laden with areca nut, was going towards Magadi from Kallur village and when a Bangalore-bound lorry, laden with stones, collided with it, apparently due to rash and negligent driving by the lorry driver.<br /><br />Shivanna and Revanasiddaiah, who sustained severe head injuries, were admitted to Nimhans. Susheelan, whose right leg has been bruised severely, was rushed to Magadi Government Hospital.<br /><br />The road near Jyothipalya Gate was laid at a cost of Rs one crore recently, but a part of it has been damaged leading to frequent accidents. Magadi police have registered a case.<br /><br />One killed in accident<br /><br />A young girl from Manipur died on the spot and two others were injured when their bike rammed into an electric pole after hitting a road divider in Madivala police station limits here on Saturday night. <br /><br />Alisha (20), a resident of Kaikodanahalli, who was riding second pillion, fell and died while her roommate Rohini (22) and Hassan Bahu (22) of Ejipura sustained minor injuries, at around 9:45 pm on Agra Road.<br /><br />Alisha was unemployed while Hassan Bahu works in a garment shop and is also studying second year BA through correspondence. Rohini is working as a receptionist in a mall on Sarjapur Road.<br /><br />The body was handed over to the relatives after a post-mortem was conducted at Victoria Hospital. Madivala police have registered a case.</p>
