Winning hearts

Winning hearts

Red Alert — The War Within, surely seems to be bridging the gap between commercial and art cinema.

And news from the prestigious Goa festival poured in that, no sooner than the window for the Red Alert screening opened, it was house full in one hour flat. The delegates were demanding for another screening.

Having stuck a chord with all the international juries, Red Alert conquered the audience’s hearts in Goa too. The film received a resounding and overwhelming response.
Suniel Shetty, in one of his finest performances, wowed the critics and the audience alike. He broke from his macho image, and portrayed the character of a naxalite so convincingly, that every delegate, journalist and critic, felt that it was Suniel Shetty’s best performance ever.

And due credit should be given to director Ananth Mahadevan for extracting that kind of performance and making a realistic, gritty, mainstream film of international standards.
