A police sub-inspector, who failed to give details of a case, was made to walk around the parade ground in the City several times by Superintendent of Police Ajay Hilori as punishment.

T R Rangappa, attached to the Masti police station in Malur taluk, had failed to report to Hilori about an attack on a few people over a property dispute at Huladeenahalli in the taluk on April 17.

The SI had brokered a compromise between the parties concerned and had closed the case. However, this was not brought to the notice of the SP, who had directed all officers to bring to his notice details of all cases they are dealing with.

The officer was found doing the rounds of the ground on Monday and on Tuesday morning too. But, by evening, his punishment had ended, an officer said.
