Last Updated 23 April 2014, 19:27 IST

The High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday regularised the services of 46 employees working on contract basis under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation since 1996.

A division bench comprising Justices K L Manjunath Justice Ravi Malimath passed the order. The petitioners had approached the High Court after the Central Administrative Tribunal dismissed their application.

The High Court has ordered issue of notices to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences and Krishnadevaraya College of Dental Sciences and Hospital in a petition filed by Dr MSV Nagarjuna who was denied to write his final year Master of Dental Surgery.

The petitioner completed his BDS in 2011 and was given admission at the Krishnadevaraya Dental College without any entrance test. At the end of three years, RGUHS denied him the permission to write his final exams saying that the petitioner had secured the seat without writing an entrance exam.

The MDS exam is scheduled on May 5. The matter was adjourned to Thursday.
