Continuing their flop show, Indian archers on Friday exited form the team events of both recurve and compound sections of the Archery World Cup Stage I in Shanghai.

The Indians will return empty-handed from the season-opener if the compound mixed pair of Abhishek Verma and Jyoti Surekha Vennam lose the bronze medal play-off against their French opponents on Saturday.

According to information received here, The Indian men’s recurve team of Viswash, Jayanta Talukdar and Rahul Banerjee failed to make use of their top billing as the trio lost to the Japanese 0-6 in the quarters.

The archers had identical fate in the compound section when the men’s team went down to the United State 226-229, while the women’s side lost to Chinese Taipei 220-225 to cap a forgettable outing.

OnThursday, Indians has crashed out of the individual rounds of both the recurve and compound sections. All hopes will rest on the pair of Verma and Vennam.
