Karnataka’s L Vivekananda drew his tenth and final round match against Dhanush Bharadwaj of Karnataka to clinch the title in the open category with nine points in the Ist MPCA All India-rating chess championship at the Chamundi Vihar Stadium here on Friday.
Vivekananda, a student of Vidya Vardhaka FGC, took home Rs 20,000 and a trophy. Bharadwaj, with 8.5 points, secured the second place and won a cash prize of Rs 12,000 and a trophy.
