Pilgrimage awareness programmes on DD

Those planning to embark on Amarnath Yatra this year may not face any trouble in planning as the government will soon provide crucial information related to the journey through the Doordarshan and radio.

The decision was taken by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry secretary Bimal Julka here at a meeting with officials from Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, Doordarshan and All India Radio (AIR) on Monday.

The Amarnath Yatra is set to commence on June 28 and conclude on August 10.

“Secretary discussed various issues to strategise appropriate communication tools for the help of the pilgrims to make them aware of the procedures to be followed for seeking registration for the Yatra,” a Ministry official said.
