67.33 pc turnout in repolling at 12 booths

The Election Commission on Tuesday conducted re-polling in 12 polling stations across the State.

Chief Electoral Officer Anil Kumar Jha said that the polling was peaceful and recorded a turnout of 67.33 per cent.

A total of about 15,000 people cast their votes again, due to the technical fault in the electronic voting machines in 11 polling stations and tampering of an EVM in Turuvekere (Tumkur constituency) during the April 17 Lok Sabha elections.

Highest turnout in Bidar

The highest turnout in the repolling was at the Government Higher Primary School (Centre Park) booth at Aliyambara in Bidar Assembly seat, under the Bidar Lok Sabha constituency.

The turnout there was 77.61 per cent.

The lowest turnout was recorded at the Government Composite High School, Naykala booth in Yadgir Assembly segment of the Raichur Lok Sabha constituency.
