'9 wards get wate through tankers'

CMC President K S Pushparaj has said that water is supplied through tankers to nine wards coming under the CMC jurisdiction. 

Speaking to mediapersons here on Monday, he said that there is acute shortage of water in Gaurikaluve, Uppalli, Shanthinagar, Ramanahalli, Balehalli, Kempanahalli, Shamil and Kumbararabeedi.

Water is supplied on alternate days in three tankers.

There is five feet water in Hirekolale kere.

The water body is filled with silt and is not suitable for drinking. Water from Yagachi is supplied to Hanumanthappa Circle. 

He said that under SFC grant, borewells will be drilled in 22 wards. The silt in 12 borewells will be removed.

A sum of Rs 10,000 has been earmarked for   removing silt from each borewells.

“We will ensure that there is no shortage of water in any parts of the CMC limits. Priority has been given for addressing the grievances related to water.”

The silt from Hirekolale will be removed. If the silt is removed before monsoon, then storage capacity will be increased.

The work on asphaltation of road in 34th ward has commenced from Monday.

The work is being taken up under Chief Minister’s Small Town Development Project.

About 75 per cent of the UGD work has been completed, the President added.

Petition

Undedasarahalli residents have submitted a petition to the CMC President seeking asphaltation of the road.

The residents said that canals have been encroached in the ward. The encroached land should be reclaimed, to facilitate the easy flow of water from Rameshwara kere.
