Cops nab 3 for robbing actress

The Delhi Police has nabbed two alleged sharpshooters of notorious Sandeep Chitania gang, including a juvenile, wanted in a murder case.

The accused, identified as Pawan,29, was arrested on Thursday with his juvenile accomplice. Police claimed to have recovered a .32 bore revolver with six cartridges, a country made pistol with nine live cartridges and a stolen Volkswagon car from their possession.

“Pawan is involved in three murder case and in one of these cases the juvenile accused had helped him,” Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Chand said in a statement.

Police said secret information was received at the crime branch office about the activities of a member of Sandeep Chitania gang in west Delhi and a police team laid a trap on Thursday following the leads.

“Two persons were apprehended from Dwarka where they were supposed to meet another gang member. The accused was identified as Pawan,” he added.

In February 2014, Pawan, his gang members and the juvenile accomplice killed another gangster Neeraj in Sonepat area of Haryana.

“The duo shot the victim and snatched his revolver. Then they pumped 16 bullets in his body leaving him dead on the spot,” the official added.

Police said Pawan and his associates also shot dead a person in year 2001, who was an eyewitness in a murder case. In year 2002, he stabbed a person in Bahadurgarh of Haryana due to personal enmity. The victim died on the spot.

Pawan is a school dropout and he worked as a truck driver before becoming a member of Sandeep Chitania gang.

The juvenile accused is a student of class 11 and he joined this gang in year 2013. The Volkswagon car in which they were travelling was found bearing a fake number plate and was robbed from Jhajjar in Haryana in year 2012.

Police have registered cases under the IPC against them.
