<p>A 35-year-old man riding a bike to his home was crushed to death by a truck after he allegedly jumped the traffic signal. The truck driver was arrested immediately.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The incident took place at a traffic signal in north-east Delhi’s Shastri Park area on Saturday night. The victim Faizan was headed to his home on his motorcycle at about 10:30 pm. He had come for some work to Shastri Park.<br /><br />“Eyewitnesses have told us that Faizan was jumping the red light when he was hit by a truck approaching from another direction,” a police officer told Deccan Herald.<br /><br />The truck driver chose not to flee from the spot and instead parked his vehicle by the road side. Suman, 24, was caught by the public and handed over to a police team which had received a call from one of the commuters. His truck too was seized.<br /><br />Faizan suffered injuries to his head which proved fatal. Police said he died on the spot. The body has been sent for post-mortem.<br /><br />“Suman was not drunk at the time of the accident. Preliminary investigations show the motorcycle rider was at fault,” said the officer.<br /><br />Faizan ran a shop in north Delhi’s Azad Market area and lived in the area with his wife and three children. <br /></p>
