Yadav was on way to Kumar's residence from the state guest house where he is putting up after arriving from New Delhi for the crucial JD(U) Legislature party meeting at 4 pm today when he faced the protestors.

Later, the JD(U) President's car was escorted inside Kumar's official residence by security personnel.

Singh, who is senior minister in Nitish Kumar Cabinet, and is being talked about as Kumar's replacement, dismissed the report.

"I am in no race for the CM's chair," Singh told reporters emerging after meeting with Yadav.

"I will bring a proposal at JD(U) Legislature party meeting today for Nitish Kumar to continue as CM," he said.

Asked whether Kumar has dismissed continuing as CM, Singh said he would be asked to reconsider it in view of strong wish of party legislators.
