State BJP leaders lobby for Central Cabinet posts

Last Updated 18 May 2014, 21:22 IST

The BJP-led NDA government is still in the planning stage but party leaders from Karnataka have already started lobbying for ministerial berths.

Many saffron leaders, including former chief ministers B S Yeddyurappa and D V Sadananda Gowda, state unit president Pralhad Joshi, newly elected MPs Suresh Angadi, Shobha Karandlaje and Rajya Sabha member Ayanur Manjunath have descended on the national capital.  They are not only meeting party top brass but also visiting “Keshav Kunj”, the RSS office for talks.

Other leaders, including former chief minister Jagadish Shettar, former ministers K S Eshwarappa and Katta Subramanya Naidu, are also camping here to watch the developments closely.

Yeddyurappa, along with other leaders, met Modi and party president Rajnath Singh here on Sunday. Party general secretary Ananth Kumar was also present during the meet.

However, sources said the party would take a call on Yeddyurappa’s aspirations only after getting reports from the CBI and legal experts as he faces CBI and Lokayukta inquiries.
