Modi becomes trustee of Somnath temple

Besides Modi, former chief secretary of Gujarat P K Laheri has also been appointed a trustee of the prestigious temple board.

The new appointments were announced after a board meeting of the trust was today held at Infocity in Gandhinagar in which Patel and Advani were present.

Somnath temple is located on the Arabian coast near Veraval in Saurashtra, Gujarat. It is one of the 12 jyotirlinga of Hinduism.

Incidentally, Advani has been associated with Somnath temple ever since he embarked upon his rath yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya in 1990.
