B'lore schools excel in CBSE Class 12 exams

Several schools in the City registered a 100 per cent pass percentage in the Central Board for School Education (CBSE) Class 12 examinations, results of which were declared on Monday. 

Besides, a number of students from Bangalore aced the exam securing top marks and percentages. 

Srishti Sinha of National Public School (NPS), Indiranagar, secured an overall percentage of 98.2 per cent in Science. She scored 100 in Chemistry, 99 in Computer Science and Mathematics, 98 in Physics and 95 in English.

 Srishti wants to pursue major in either English or Economics in Columbia University.  “I had joined a coaching institute for engineering, but soon I realised that I did not want to pursue it. I believe that one needs to enjoy what one studies,” said the avid debater who also enjoys playing the guitar. 

Another Science topper, Saurabh Gaggar from NPS, Koramangala, scored 98 per cent and secured 100 in Computer Science, 98 in Chemistry and Maths, 97 in English and Physics.

 “Along with studies, I enjoy playing cricket, badminton and listening to music. I want to take up engineering in Computer Science,” he said.

Prashant Kumar Patel, a Commerce topper with 97 per cent is from Jain International School, Kanakapura, came all the way from Chhattisgarh to the City for his plus two. He secured 100 in Physical Education, 99 in Computer Science, 98 in Accounts, 95 in Economics and 93 in English.

Speaking from Chhattisgarh over phone, he said: “I am planning to pursue Bachelors of Management Studies (BMS) from Narsee Monjee College in Maharashtra.” Playing cricket, chess and reading novels are his pastimes.  

Rino Abraham Johnson from Kensri School, Hebbal, also secured 96 per cent in Commerce. 

“I did not follow any routine but concentrated on making the most of the study time,” said Prashant, who likes playing cricket and carrom. He scored 98 in Business Maths and Infomatic Science, 97 in Accounts, 95 in Economics and 93 in English. He wants to pursue Chartered Accountancy. 

Pooja Raju from Sri Kumaran’s Children’s Home, Kanakpura Road, who secured 96 per cent is keen on taking up psychology in her undergraduate studies. “I enjoy playing the keyboard and listening to music in my free time,” she said. She obtained 99 in Psychology, 98 in History and 95 in English, Economics and Sociology. 

Athira, another topper secured 94.6 per cent in the Arts, securing 99 in History and Geography, 95 in English, 93 in Hindi and 87 in Economics. A student of Kendriya Vidyalaya, AFS, Yelahanka, she is keen on pursuing a dual degree in BA and BEd from Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Mysore.
