Daniel S Farid ended his good show in the tournament in grand style as he comfortably pipped his rival Mithun Manjunath 21-14, 21-15 in the mens’ singles final of the Purvankara-Sadashivanagar State-ranking badminton tourney here on Friday.
In the women’s singles title clash, top seed Ruth Misha continued her winning streak and ended the tournament on a high as she overcame Meghana Kulkarni 21-17, 21-8 to wear the womens’ singles crown.
Meanwhile, in the veterans mens’ singles category, showcasing his vintage talent, Ashok Raman set aside a spirited Vinay Siddaraj 21-15, 21-19 to emerge the winner.
Narendra Babu and Sunil Pai beat Vinay Siddaraj and Kedarnath 21-17, 17-21, 26-24 in the veterans’ doubles category in the 45-plus age group challenege. In the 55 years and above age group battle, SKB Naidu and Sudhakar Rai truimphed against Ashok Raman and Chandran KP 21-19, 12-21, 21-17.
