Hundreds of BJP workers led by party legislators on Monday staged a demonstration in the City to protest against the State government over its ‘inefficiency’ in properly handling the case pertaining to ADGP P Ravindranath allegedly clicking pictures of a woman at a coffee shop, and the subsequent developments that showed the police in a bad light.

The BJP leaders demanded the resignation of Home Minister K J George for his alleged failure to handle the issue properly.

They said that he did not intervene on time and handle the situation which took an ugly turn.
They had submitted a memorandum to the governor on Sunday.

They wanted Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to take a closer look at it and initiate stern action at the earliest.

Malleswaram MLA C N Ashwath Narayan, Dasarahalli MLA Muniraju, MLC Ashwatnarayana and BJP City president Subbanna participated in the demonstration held in front of Sir Puttanna Chetty Town Hall.

Dalita Sangharsha Samithi members, who staged a separate demonstration near Mysore Bank Circle, demanded a CBI inquiry into the episode and sought the removal of Raghavendra Auradkar as Bangalore police commissioner till the ongoing probe is completed.
