JOIN USPravin suffered brain haemorrhage and slipped into coma on Saturday and is in the ICU of Jupiter hospital in Thane. He has since shown no significant improvement, a hospital spokesman said.
The 50-year old convict was released two weeks back from the Nasik prison on a 15 day parole to attend to his wife. His parole ended on Friday and he was to report back to prison, but instead landed in the ICU of Jupiter hospital.
The fact that it is not a fake indisposition to avoid going back to jail was borne out by his critical condition. "He is unconscious and is on life support system," the hospital spokesman said.
Doctors in the hospital had on Saturday stated that the cause of haemorrhage could be hypertension, but it was not possible to predict the prognosis at this stage.
