Bangalore rail underpass projects to get a push

Railways Minister D V Sadananda Gowda on Saturday said he would accord top priority for taking up rail underpass projects in Bangalore in the next two to three months to ease traffic congestion in the City.

Replying to felicitations offered by BJP workers of Bangalore North Lok Sabha constituency, Gowda said while he would serve with commitment as Railways minister of the entire country, he had the responsibility to give back to his constituency.

Gowda said underpass projects in Bangalore would be completed to remove bottlenecks and ease flow of traffic. The minister said he would open his MP’s office at VV Towers wherein people can get their grievances addressed.

Gowda said he will place his ‘report card’ on the responsibilities discharged by him as a minister and also as Bangalore North MP before the people in five years. He recalled that Narendra Modi had made a similar commitment during his speech at Central Hall of Parliament and he would emulate the prime minister. The former chief minister said he would present a “good” railway budget next month. He would tour the constituency soon after the monsoon session.

Earlier, the party cadre gave Gowda as rousing recSadananda Gowda eption as soon as he entered Sheesh Mahal in Palace Grounds, the venue of the function. Women in colourful sarees showered white and pink rose petals on him.  Former deputy chief minister R Ashoka, party MLAs Muniraju, C N Ashwathnarayana, R Jagadish Kumar among others were present.
