Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is understood to be planning to appoint retired IPS officer Kempaiah as his security advisor. A proposal in this regard is said to have been pending with the chief minister.
Sources said Home Minister K J George is learnt to have requested the chief minister to allow him to take Kempaiah, a former ADGP, as advisor to the Home department.
Siddaramaiah will soon take a decision on the pending proposal, sources added.
When contacted, Director General and Inspector General of Police L R Pachuau said he was unaware of any such proposal.
