“He’s been given an injection. We will see how exactly he feels tomorrow before the game and go according to that. He’s part of the series and part of the side. If Yuvi is not playing then there are very good chances Virat Kohli will play,” Dhoni said in the pre-match press-do.
Yuvraj had injured the little finger of his left-hand while fielding in the second T20 match in Mohali on Saturday. The southpaw had visited a City-based orthopedic on Sunday evening after experiencing pain on his finger.

The Punjab batsman did not take part in batting or fielding session at nets on the day, though he did some routine stretching exercises.

Sri Lankan pacer Lasith Malinga did not stretch himself much either in the training session, and coach Trevor Bayliss attributed it to fever.

“We don’t have any injury concerns. But Malinga is not feeling at his best as he has bit of a fever. We will wait and watch him till tomorrow. Hopefully, he will recover in time,” Bayliss said.
Meanwhile, off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan, who had suffered a bruised ligament that forced him to sit out of the T20s, visited a local hospital here for expert opinion on the status of his injury.
Team management said they were still observing the progress the master spinner has made, and take a decision accordingly.
