Chris Gayle blasted a 46-ball unbeaten 80 (7x4, 6x6) to script West Indies’ 10-wicket win over New Zealand in the second Test here on Friday.
With this win, the hosts levelled the three-match series after losing the first game in Jamaica.
Needing 93 to win after New Zealand tail had prolonged to 331, the Caribbeans were left a frustrated lot with rain causing a long delay on the fifth and final day.
Once the play resumed, however, Gayle finished off things in a jiffy.
New Zealand had fought back from on the fourth day on Thursday. An unbroken 45-run partnership between BJ Watling and Mark Craig for the ninth wicket helped New Zealand avoid an innings defeat and push the match into a fifth day at the Queen's Park Oval.
