It’s known that disaster strikes in the form of Sajid Khan movies. But who thought the calamity would assume such monstrous proportions this time! Even the geological surveys wouldn’t have seen Humshakals coming.

If Himmatwala was torture, this is sudden death. And god save the poor viewer who lasts the 157 minutes of unbelievably rotting trash.

Sajid Khan shows the audacity to pay tributes to Kishore Kumar, Jim Carrey and Peter Sellers in the opening credits. Then he gets down to business, stooping to levels all too familiar to him.

This time, it’s about the heir to a god-knows-what business empire (Saif Ali Khan) who also aspires to be a stand-up comedian. Poor jokes, no laughs. So he meets the same fate as the movie — a rapidly thinning audience. Enter sinister mama Ram Kapoor who gives a potion to Saif and friend Riteish and turns them into dogs.
 Seriously? Bow-wow and how!

Both are packed off to an asylum where Sajid Khan finds a lot more subjects to aim his tasteless jokes at.

Then it’s some mini-skirt time with Tamannah, Bipasha and Esha whose acting is as bad as the contorted faces that Saif and Riteish sport throughout the film. And just as one thought it can’t get worse, arrive two more pairs of lookalikes. And that royal pain in the rear triples in size.

Humshakals is one of its kind. Its lookalike? Improbable.
