Hotel gets notice for not verifying Aamir

Laxmi Narain, Superintendent of Police, Chandauli district, 40 kilometres from here told PTI on Wednesday that owner of Hotel Saraswati at Mughalsarai, Vansha Narain Singh was served notice yesterday to explain, as to why he did not verify properly Aamir Khan before letting him to stay there.

He said police had instructed hoteliers that in view of the terror threat, they must verify properly any person before allowing him to stay in their hotel.
Moreover, the hoteliers are bound to intimate the local police about any suspect, staying in their hotel.

An alert was sounded in and around eastern UP in view of a recent tip-off from the union Home ministry regarding Taliban trained terrorists planning to strike at sensitive locations in the country.

Earlier, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order AK Jain told PTI that security in eastern UP districts along with other sensitive districts of the state has been beefed up.

"Districts having places of religious importance and naxal problem like Varanasi, Chandauli, Mirzapur and Sonebhadra have been kept under strict vigilance," Jain said.

Surveillance at crowded public places like railway stations and bus stops has been enhanced with additional men deployed to keep a round-the-clock vigil on suspicious elements, he added.

SP Chandauli Laxmi Narain further said that if police does not get proper explanation from the hotel owner, then it would take strict action against them.
Bollywood star Aamir Khan had reached the holy city of Varanasi on Friday and travelled through the narrow gallies (bylanes) for two days to search his mother, Zeenat's birth place and finally he reached the Teliyanala area in a narrow gali near the Prahlad Ghat on banks of the Ganga.

Wearing a simple pant shirt, his face rapped in a muffler, chewing paan Aamir had disguised as a real 'Banarasi.

Aamir had also visited famous Dasaswamedh Ghat, where his mother used to visit in evening everyday for boat rides.

Meanwhile, the hotel owner told PTI, "Bollywood actor was wearing a Burqa (veil) and we could not ask him to show his face. He stayed here on the name of Akram Shah and company and had booked seven rooms in the hotel."
