Cable TV operator brutally killed in New Delhi

Last Updated 25 June 2014, 21:22 IST

A 51-year-old cable TV operator in central Delhi’s New Rajender Nagar was stabbed to death on Wednesday afternoon. The crime appears to have been committed by people seeking revenge or holding a deep grudge.

Apart from slitting his throat, the assaulters inflicted stab injuries on his chest and stomach.

The stomach appeared to have been slit open and his intestines were protruding. The victim, Tarun Bajaj, had undergone a bypass surgery about three months ago. The surgery stitches were removed.

Police said it did not appear to be a case of robbery as the house was not ransacked and the assaulters possibly gained friendly entry into the flat located on the first floor of the four-storey building at F-Block.

Tarun’s wife Ritu, a legal advisor with DSIIDC, was the first to discover the gruesome murder when she returned home from office at about 6 pm. She had earlier been informed about Tarun not opening the door by two men who work for him.

“Sant Ram and Ranjeet had arrived at the house to report for work at 2:30 pm and sat in the nearby park for sometime when they received no answer on ringing the doorbell.

They informed Tarun’s wife about it,” said Anurag, victim’s friend.

Ritu entered the house with a duplicate key and found her husband’s body on the bed.
