Man kills wife-beating neighbour

A 32-year-old driver was allegedly beaten to death by his neighbour at Billehalli in Bagalur police limits on Saturday.

The incident occurred when the victim, identified as Syed Mehboob, 32, came home drunk on Friday night and picked a quarrel with his wife Ayesha.

His wife then rushed out of the house when he was about to hit her.

Noticing this, the couple’s neighbour, Khadir, intervened. Mehboob pushed him down, abused him and warned him against intervening in their domestic issues.

In a fit of rage, Khadir kicked him on his chest and Mehboob collapsed.

He was later rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared brought dead, said the police. Khadir is at large, added the police.

Homemaker ends life

A 20-year-old homemaker committed suicide by jumping in front of a speeding train near Shankar Nag railway gate in Yeshwantpur railway police limits on Friday evening.

According to police, the deceased Meena Kumari was married to Johnson, a labourer, for about a year.

The couple had reportedly fought over a petty issue. On being alerted, the police rushed to the spot and shifted the body to a hospital for the post-mortem.

In a complaint, Meena Kumari's parents accused Johnson of harassing their daughter for dowry and made a mention of his addition to liquor.

She took the extreme step as she was depressed, they added in the complaint.

Man kills himself

A 32-year-old man allegedly hanged himself at his Bhyrappa Galli house in Cottonpet on Friday night. 

The deceased was identified as Vasanth Kumar, who supplied flowers and other decoration material to weddings, said the police.

Kumar returned home late on Friday night, went into a room, locked and slept.

 The family members grew suspicious as he did not open the door till 10 am on Saturday.

 They broke open the door only to find him hanging from the ceiling.

Reasons for his decision is not known and there was no suicide note, said the police.

Drunken brawl

Two men allegedly stabbed a 32-year-old man on HAL Main Road while he was returning home late on Friday night.

The victim, Rambabu, a resident of  Ramamurthy Nagar, was rushed to Manipal Hospital for treatment. He is stated to be out of danger, said the police.

The incident took place at 11 pm when he was returning home on a bike.

 The suspects, who were drunk, accosted him, picked a quarrel without any provocation.

Later, they stabbed him and fled the spot.

On seeing him lying in a pool of blood, the night patrolling police rushed him to a nearby hospital from where he was shifted to Manipal Hospital, added the police.

The police said that the suspects had been identified as residents of Munnekolala and they would be arrested soon.
