It's the talk of the town

Entertaining: Raghu DixitIt was a special one for many, but the man who was most touched by the event was of course the director-cum-actor, Sudeep.

Why won’t he be? After all his close friends from other film streams flew in just to be part of what he called “a homely function”.

It was a coming together of woods, while Little Super Star Silambarasan (Simbu) came from Kollywood, Jagapathi Babu made his presence felt from Tollywood and of course, there was Vivek Oberoi from B’town to witness his first Sandalwood event.
“It is really fabulous and am surprised that at such a young age, Sudeep has managed to have so many feathers in his cap. I must say that I am also his fan,” said Vivek, a sentiment which all the celebrities shared.

The evening also saw celebrities like Rockline Venkatesh, Ambareesh, Lovely Star Prem, director Prem, Chiranjeevi Sarja and others.Sudeep and producer R Shankar being the gracious hosts, made sure that each one of their chief guest was not left out and greeted each one with a tiny video montage of their work before they came on stage.

In fact even the Transport Minister R Ashok got a grand welcome with a montage of photographs before he was felicitated, which made him feel “like a movie star”, he said. The evening, Sudeep said, was dedicated to all those people who were behind the making of the music.

“Generally people say that the unique feature in the movie is the script but in JMM it is the music that is the unique,” said Sudeep. Music director Raghu Dixit, who composed the songs for the film, provided opportunity for a lot of budding lyricists who Sudeep felt have made the maximum use of the opportunity. “All the lyrics were so good that we didn’t need to make any corrections at all,” he added.

Raghu, who performed one of Sudeep’s favourite songs in the track said, “I truly believe, I am really lucky to make the kind of music I like to make. Sudeep got in touch with me even before I gave music for Psycho and he gave me complete freedom during the entire making.

In fact, a lot of the singers and lyricists didn’t even take the payment until the song was approved. This is one day I will never forget.”

Incidentally, the heroine of the film Ramya, was absent at the launch. Sources said that the fuel between the two had not yet died down but then again with all the male bonding that was taking place, we are sure the damsel would have felt left out anyways.
