BJP member Ganesh Karnik was appointed the Opposition party chief whip in the Council on Friday.

Chairman D H Shankaramurthy, leader of the House S R Patil and Leader of the Opposition K S Eshwarappa greeted Karnik when he occupied the chief whip’s chair.
