BJP demands Home Minister's resignation

Home Minister and District-in-Charge K J George who had visited the district to review rain damages in Kodagu district had to face the heat of the BJP's protest, on Saturday.

The BJP members criticised the government for what it said was its failure to check increasing sexual assaults on women.

The protesters staged protest in front of the DC’s office. Inspite of increasing in sexual assaults on women, the state government has failed to take stringent action against the culprits. “The Home ministry has failed completely.

The increase in assaults on women has made all of us to bow our head in shame,” the protesters said.

BJP Yuva Morcha President B B Bharathish demanded the resignation of the home minister.

Demanding stringent action against perpetrators of crime, district BJP Yuva Morcha submitted a petition to the Minister.

Students protest

NSS unit of Bharathi First Grade College staged a protest against sexual assaults on women and children. 

The students took out a jatha on Field Marshal Cariappa Road and formed human chain at Kittur Rani Chennamma Circle.

The protesters said that law and order has collapsed in the State.

Lecturer Chandrakanth said that the government should provide protection to women.

The protesters in Kushalnagar said that instead of dealing sternly with the culprits, there are attempts to hush up the cases.

The Home minister has not moral right to continue as the  minister.

The students slammed the government for its failure to prevent crimes against women.

The protesters blocked the road for 15 minutes, at Field Marshal Cariappa Circle in Kushalnagar for 15 minutes and shouted slogans against the State government.
