<p>The chariot has been built by Tangadorai from Madurai.<br /><br />It is made up of 12 kg gold, 18 kg silver and 500 kg of bronze besides being embedded up with 1.25 kg of precious stones.<br /><br />The chariot to be offered to the lord has been built at an estimated cost of Rs 7 crore.<br />As many as 150 artisans have worked for several months to create this marvellous masterpiece. Sources claimed that the mutt has raised a loan of Rs 2 crore for creation of the chariot. Seer Sugunendra Theertha said that it will be taken out in processions during his two-year paryaya term, later it would be used in religious activities in sanctum sanctorum.</p>
